Hi Y'all!!!
So I had a lot of firsts this week. Well, maybe not a lot...but a couple. On Thursday, I went inside the Capitol. The Senate was voting on a very important women's issue amendment (the Blunt amendment for those following BC news) so we were there thanking the senators who voted against it. Thankfully, we won, barely, 51-48, but still counts as a win.
Then today, I went to the World Bank for an event on CEDAW and Women's right. For those who don't know, the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women is an international treaty that recognizes the equality between men and women. It has been ratified by all countries in the world except for six-the US, Iran, Sudan, Somalia, and two small island countries
March is Women's History Month, and March 8th is International Women's Day so a lot more events on happening in the upcoming weeks. I'll keep you posted since I know you are so fascinated about these issues.

Hahah actually super fascinated Lauren! So cool, what did that World Bank have to say about CEDAW? Was it just general allocation of funding/loans to help with certain countries programs? How is NOW involved in that? --this is where my interest in international law gets intertwined with women's rights :)
